Palace fans won’t forget this signing. Bobby Bowry began his career at QPR but unfortunately failed to make one appearance for them. He then moved to Palace where he made 50 appearances and help them win the old First Division. The first teenager to be transferred for over £1m. He was with Palace from 1994 to 1998 before joining Barnsley. Originally started off on the wing, but pushed into a more central role with a total of 44 goals. This former player was known for his hard tackles and no-nonsense approach. Unfortunately, injury blighted his career which otherwise had great potential to go further. The first goalkeeper to be signed for over £1 million and what a snip it was. Many consider him to be unlucky as he was in the same era as David Seaman and Tim Flowers. He now does media work and has also worked as a coach in the lower leagues.

A member of the cup final team in 1990, Andy Thorn was a bargain signing from Wimbledon. He returned to Wimbledon in 1994 for a few seasons, before a stint in Scotland and then on to Tranmere. He retired at 31 due to a knee injury. Simon ‘Jolly’ Rodger, who played for Stoke and Man City, was a loyal servant to Palace. He also played through the administration period where that particular group of players are held in high regard. Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock joined the Eagles for a free transfer before joining Swindon Town. His time was chequered and shortlived at Selhurst.
January 1998 saw Brolin handed a two-week trial which was then extended till the end of the season. He ended up playing 12 times for the Eagles, but was considerably overweight at the time. This was considered a last throw of the dice as Palace were in dire straights fighting a relegation battle.
According to his Wikipedia page, Brolin then went on to open a restaurant (quite ironic) called Undici, this was an Italian/Swedish restaurant.
He then went to sell mouthpieces for vacuum cleaners before playing in the TV poker series.

‘Razor’ did come out of retirement at the age of 46 to sign for Wellingborough Whitworth.
Since then, he has starred in reality TV shows such as I’m a Celebrity and Big Brother. After ‘I’m a Celeb’, he recorded a song with fellow contestants for charity. His appearance on Big Brother was short-lived, he was voted out first.
